Hi,
http://www.wikilovesmonuments.eu/awards/
I want to start a new thread about ideas what we going to give to the
winners on the international level.
>From my point of view, the awards needs to be something everyone can easily
get and enjoy (and less something local like a hotel in Russia, or a flight
in Portugal).
Ticket to Wikimania is a great thing for example, and I'll be happy if we
can discuses others ideas for this year international awards.

Hello,
We at Wikimedia France had some discussions about what we want to ask
potential (commercial) sponsors to fund, and what conditions we can accept
from them.
I know some discussion about this occured during the last Chapters Meeting
in Berlin, but I don't know what was concluded.
As we have to decide soon to have time to send requests to potential
sponsors, we would like to have some more advice... What do you think about
commercial sponsorship ?
Best regards,
Sylvain.

Dear all,
here is a short video I made about Commons, WLM, and ideas on how
to reuse this content -- the purpose is to deliver some information
on Commons and WLM quickly, while suggesting local entities to reuse
this content for their own purpose.
The video with no subtitles (french):

With subtitles (french, english):

(If you want to add subtitles in your own language, please do!)
The video reuse nice infographics from "The State of Wikipedia"
(Jess3) and is licensed under CC by-sa 3.0.
Enjoy,

Dear all,
I would like to ask you some info about the "Flickr to Commons" procedure
for WLM.
Maybe I'm drowning in a glass of water (don't sure if this is the figure,
whatever),
but I would like to understand it better.
Lodewijk explained the Italian group that there are tools for it (I knew
the flickr2commons bot,
and AFAIK it still goes on restlessly from toolserver).
He also said that we could use Flickr tags to put some information,
as the monument identifier.
Is there, somewhere, some documentation about it?
(I only found this:
http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Wiki_Loves_Monuments_2011/Tools#F…
)
I was thinking that, given the lists of monuments,
one could engage *right now* the Flickr community.
We could have people who want to participate to WLM
* put the tags
* change the license in CC-BY-SA
in these months,
and in September we would run the bot to upload everything on Commons.
(Is the procedure logically correct? Do I miss something?)
Now, my issue is with the timing.
--> If I put/upload some picture in Flickr in CC-BY-SA, does the bot upload
in Commons right away?
This would spoil their participation in WLM.
At the same time, I think it would be important to contct users on Flickr
and have them
re-license (or upload) their photos in CC-BY-SA 8and add metadata as well).
I hope to have been clear enough.
Thanks
Aubrey
