Hi all,
I've just copied our Etherpad notes to the Wikimedia Commons WLM
namespace -- they're here:
https://secure.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/w/index.php?title=Commons:Wi….
We might want to have the 1000 lines-long (WLM-meeting) as well as the
WLM-tech notes moved there -- if anyone's willing to volunteer for the
job it would be appreciated :-)
Cheers,
- --

Hi everyone,
We set up emailaddresses and OTRS queues for Wiki Loves Monuments. These
addresses can be used to put on our websites so that people can easily
get in touch with us.
info(a)wikilovesmonuments.eu is the main emailaddress, it will end up in
the "wlm" queue. We created a batch of country specific subqueues:
info-ad(a)wikilovesmonuments.eu -> wlm::wlm-ad
info-at(a)wikilovesmonuments.eu -> wlm::wlm-at
info-be(a)wikilovesmonuments.eu -> wlm::wlm-be
info-ch(a)wikilovesmonuments.eu -> wlm::wlm-ch
info-de(a)wikilovesmonuments.eu -> wlm::wlm-de
info-dk(a)wikilovesmonuments.eu -> wlm::wlm-dk
info-es(a)wikilovesmonuments.eu -> wlm::wlm-es
info-et(a)wikilovesmonuments.eu -> wlm::wlm-et
info-fi(a)wikilovesmonuments.eu -> wlm::wlm-fi
info-fr(a)wikilovesmonuments.eu -> wlm::wlm-fr
info-nl(a)wikilovesmonuments.eu -> wlm::wlm-nl
info-pl(a)wikilovesmonuments.eu -> wlm::wlm-pl
info-pt(a)wikilovesmonuments.eu -> wlm::wlm-pt
info-se(a)wikilovesmonuments.eu -> wlm::wlm-se
It's possible to have email to info@<your domain> end up in your otrs
queue. For example info(a)wikilovesmonuments.nl ends up in the wlm::wlm-nl
queue. If you want that (beware, technical!) you need to add "MX"
(email) records to your wikilovesmonuments domain:
wikilovesmonuments.nl. 3600 IN MX 40 lists.wikimedia.org.
wikilovesmonuments.nl. 3600 IN MX 10 mchenry.wikimedia.org.
When you did that ask Raymond to set up the OTRS part.
We went through the OTRS user list and added users we recognized as
being active for the Wiki Loves Monuments project. People who have
access to the OTRS wiki can see the list at
https://secure.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/otrs-wiki/wiki/Admin_log/2011/05
. If you do have access to OTRS, but you're not on this list: Contact
Raymond, he can add you to the queue. Sorry if we forgot you, the
userlist is really looooooong ;-)

Hi there people,
I and Maria were trying to coordinate the arrivals of WMPT and WMES people
in Berlin, and i think that might have some other people in arriving at 12
May.
Could someone create a table like in Chapters meeting?

Dear all,
We have prepared a draft agenda for the Friday of the coming up May Meeting.
The schedule for Saturday and Sunday will determine on those outcomes, and
will be set on Friday evening.
Please find the draft here:
http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Commons:Wiki_Loves_Monuments_2011/May_Mee…
-
If there are big missing gaps, please let us know asap! Oh, we put in lots
of breaks, so if you have a little something to go with the coffee from your
country, feel free to bring some samples!
Please note: there are some preperations we expect from each participant:
* Prepare ~1 minute introduction per participating country (no slides)
* Collect problems you encountered (you can email them around, but we will
ask everybody to summarize them in a few words at the meeting)
* Collect what are the best ideas in your country (idem)
* Think especially about what tools you would really like to see
Of course you're always free to share this on the mailing list, but most
importantly make sure you can share it all during the meeting.
Keep an eye on the above linked page, practical information will be posted
there.
With kind regards,
Lodewijk and Maarten
ps: the agenda for Friday contains a point at the end of the afternoon which
intentionally has too little time. The idea is to touch all topics there
shortly, and then decide how to continue tackling them (evening, next day.
Plenery, working groups etc.)
Hi all,
I'm looking for clarifications regarding the selection of pictures for the
European contest. Basically, I have 2 concerns :
1. the number of pictures to be selected by country
2. the selection criteria
For the second topic, the point is that we will start our local contest in
summer already and i don't want to have pictures refused on the european
contest because they where not loaded in September only.
Thanks for the clarifications,
Nico
Hi everyone,
We've been busy so I have a lot of good news :-)
Netherlands
We already have some partners and sponsors for WLM in the Netherlands.
Last Wednesday we had our first workgroup meeting for Wiki Loves
Monuments at our shiny new office in Utrecht. We're going to give extra
attention to "offline" promotion of the project, something we identified
as a weakness last year. We're also going to organize some local events
(like last years Wiki Takes Haarlem).
Europe
For the European part of Wiki Loves Monuments got in touch with several
potential partners.
Carare (http://www.carare.eu/) supports us with contacts at the moment.
You might remember by email about Video and Wiki Loves Monuments. I got
a response from the Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision: They
would like to sponsor a European price for video.
This week I got a call from someone from the Counsel of Europe (the
people organizing the European Heritage days). They're willing to
support the project. I'm in contact with them to discus how exactly. For
the Counsel of Europe the European aspect of the project is very important!
As you might know Wikimedia and Europeana have regular contacts. I
visited them this week to discus several things which included Wiki
Loves Monuments. They're willing to sponsor the project with a nice
price and maybe more. One of the things they would like is to somehow
have a link between the photographs taken as part of WLM and their
collection. We've discussed several options like a matching game or a
special focus on Art Nouveau. Any idea or suggestions? This is probably
one of the things we want to discus in Berlin.
Europa Nostra, Creative Commons, OpenStreetMap and the European Route of
Industrial Heritage are still on my list. Suggestions on other
organizations to contact are welcome.
Looking forward to see you guys in Berlin!
Maarten
