Hi all,
I've just posted a new translation request for the May 2011 Update from the
Wikimedia Foundation. This statement will be transmitted via a CentralNotice
banner[1] and a letter on strategy.wikimedia.org[2].
Please help us get this translated as soon as possible. Thanks!

Egy floridai republikánusokból álló kör be akarja szervezni Jimmy Walest,
hogy induljon el a 2012-es szenátusi választásokon. A "drafting" csoport
külön honlappal (http://draftjimmywales.wordpress.com/) és
Facebook-megjelenéssel (http://www.facebook.com/jimmywales2012/)
rendelkezik. Tud valaki arról, hogy Jimmynek vannak-e politikai ambíciói?

Sziasztok!
Bence

I would like to second this.
Unfortunately, though, I have to ask you guys to help out with yet
another thing! There's been an update to the survey introduction to
make it clearer to respondents and to make sure they know we
appreciate their time, since the survey is so long.
Would you mind updating the introduction of the translations? Here is
the updated diff: <http://meta.wikimedia.org/?diff=2487779>
There will also be a change in the CentralNotice, but that text has
not been finalized yet.
I'm very sorry for these changes and the short notice, but we really
appreciate your help.

Sziasztok!
Április 13-áig tesztelni kellene a hamarosan induló szerkesztői felmérés
magyar változatát:
http://survey.wikimedia.org/index.php?sid=52769&lang=hu
Bence

Subject: [Translators-l] test the editor survey
To: Wikimedia Translators <translators-l(a)lists.wikimedia.org>
Hello everyone,
As most of you are aware we are in the process of launching the editor
survey shortly. We are very excited as the survey has been programmed, and
is currently available in 22 languages. Thanks for making this possible. We
would not have had the survey in 22 languages without the help of all the
editors who volunteered their time to translate the survey.
The survey is available in the following languages: English, Chinese
(traditional, Hong Kong), Chinese (simplified), Serbian, Russian,
Portuguese, Polish, Dutch, Macedonian, Italian, Hungarian, Croatian, Hebrew,
French, Finnish, Spanish, German, Danish, Welsh, Catalan, Bulgarian and
Arabic.
Before we launch the survey, we would like to test the non-English surveys.
I am hoping that some of you would be willing to test the survey in your
native language. I want to test the survey for language and timing. It will
be akin to taking the survey like a respondent, but responses from the test
will not be saved. We are only looking for your feedback to make the survey
better. You can click on the following link to test the survey:
http://survey.wikimedia.org/index.php?sid=52769&lang=en
I am hoping to test the survey on two important criteria:
1. Timing: Please take the survey without any interruptions, and give us an
estimate of how long it took to complete the survey. In English, it takes
about 20 minutes to complete the survey.
2. Language: Are the questions easy to understand? I would like to make sure
that the questions are valid in the local cultural context. Is the
translation (survey and interface) broken in any way?
We will close the test on April 13, Wednesday at 12.00 PM (PST). Please send
your feedback to me at mpande(a)wikimedia.org till Wednesday.
Thanks in advance
Mani

Subject: [Foundation-l] WikiGuide on Wikisource
To: foundation-l(a)lists.wikimedia.org
[sorry for cross-posting]
Hello everyone.
Wikimedia Italia is proud to announce you the release of the new WikiGuide,
a video tutorial dedicated to Wikisource.
The video, directed by Christian Biasco and produced by WMI, is a seven
minutes long presentation of Wikisource projects,
aimed to introduce new users into the complex mechanisms of the digital
library.
This is the third WikiGuide available, after the first on Wikipedia and the
second on Commons.
The video is available on Commons at the URL
http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Wikimedia_Italia_-_WikiGuida_3_-_Wik…
and on Youtube too (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cR0g5ACaC-g): it is
released in CC-BY-SA.
Italian subs are already available online (both on Youtube and Commons) and
English subs are being traslated at the moment.
We'll post again as soon as we have them (for further translations and
internationationalization).
Best regards,
Andrea Zanni / Aubrey
