Dear Wikimedians,

Indaba is fast approaching, and there is need for proper planning. From what I can see, there are limited scholarships available for people who needs scholarship to attend the conference. I think there is need to constitute a scholarship committee to oversea the scholarship program. Although, this might not be necessary if scholarship will only be given to representatives of usergroup like our annual Wikimedia Conference in Berlin. .

The main duties of the committee members prior to Indaba 2016 will include but not limited to:

- Participation in periodic online meetings with scholarships program manager and other committee members. - Assistance in determination of scholarship applicant requirements. - Assurance of due consideration and speedy response time to Indaba scholarship applications in multiple languages. - Work with the host team and WMF (if necessary).

The community may decide on what criteria should members of the committee be selected.
