Indaba is fast approaching, and there is need for proper planning. From what I can see,  there are limited scholarships available for people who needs scholarship to attend the conference. I think there is need to constitute a scholarship committee to oversea the scholarship program. Although, this might not be necessary if scholarship will only be given to representatives of usergroup like our annual Wikimedia Conference in Berlin.

The main duties of the committee members prior to Indaba 2016 will include but not limited to:

• Participation in periodic online meetings with scholarships program manager and other committee members.
• Assistance in determination of scholarship applicant requirements.
• Assurance of due consideration and speedy response time to Indaba scholarship applications in multiple languages.
• Work with the host team and WMF (if necessary).

The community may decide on what criteria should members of the committee be selected.
