Hello gals and guys
In case you missed it, I wanted to inform you of the forthcoming Africa Destubathon
What ?
The idea is simple: blast away as many of our 37,000 + Africa stubs as possible! There will hopefully be a prize to the editor who fleshes out the most stubs from every country of Africa. All that is required for this is basic article expansions and improvements. To "destub" an article all you have to do is ensure it's minimum 1.5 kb (1500 characters) readable prose in total The existing text and text you add is expected to all be verifiable and adequately sourced to reliable sources, with the expected Wikipedia:Citations drawn up. Whoever "destubs" the most articles for a given country wins a prize, and whoever wins the most "destubs" for the most countries will be crowned the overall winner.
Where ?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:WikiProject_Africa/The_Africa_Destub...
When
Starting Oct 15
Anything special ?
There will be special prizes for whoever destub the more African Women articles
*We need your help NOW*
Advices (on the talk page) and endorsement (on the grant page) are welcome *(if you feel like it is a good idea of course)* https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Grants:Project/Rapid/The_Africa_De-stubathon

I'm so happy to hear that the contest is happening - and it's great to see so many great folks involved so far!
We can (try) to post about the contest from the Wikimedia social media accounts - please let me know if this is something you are interested in.
Also, let us know when the grant is ready for review.
Best,
Kacie

Hello Kacie :)
Well, it is Dr Blofeld who is the grantee. So it is pretty much up to him to say if the grant is final for review...
Blo ? Is that good on your side ?
--------
Interested for the push from Wikimedia social media accounts. I'll push it as well from the Wiki Loves Women and WikiAfrica FB and twitter accounts. And will post in Wikimedia Foundation Social Media.
--------
On another note, I opened a request for a site notice.
It is awfully short of time. I apology for that. Just pointing out to it : https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/CentralNotice/Request/The_Africa_De-stubatho...
It needs someone to do the banner.
