Interesting.
Well web applications are my speciality at the moment so I will pop in later and see if I can contribute.

We started like... today :) so there is no working demo, however since I am a developer of current application which is written in c#, it's probably clear that I don't understand development of web applications very well, the reason why this project exist is that some guys who do understand it came with the idea and I help them with maintenance and php code. I definitely don't understand html, css and javascript. Only I can help with is php, so anyone else who can join and help is welcome! I am basically trying to lead the web developers the way which the web app will be 100% compatible with current binary version, since I know how does it work. I would prefer to use even same localization files as we use for application, since there is a translation for more than 15 languages already completed and all text should be same.

Hey Petr,
I might be able to help you out with this (will try to find my way to #huggle tonight). Seems an interesting project.
Is there anything in particular you're looking for help with? Is there a demo/test version in place? What state is the development in at the moment (i.e. is there a working prototype or...?)

Hi Mono, thanks! In that case, best what you can do is open #huggle on freenode and send me your google account to my email benapetr@gmail.com, I give you svn access.

Hi all,
I want to inform you that we started a new project called Huggle WA,
it's a
web interface based version of popular utility Huggle. It is being developed by original huggle developers and some other devs and
everyone
else, who is interested in this project. Production version and
development
server is going to be hosted by wikimedia labs. The tool is probably
going
to use OAuth for authentication as soon as it is available and its
goal
is
to allow anyone with browser to use the utility.
Main benefits include:
- no need to update sw (updates are being done on server)
- no need to download anything or need to have extra permissions on
computer you want to use
- easy access, from any pc
The binary version is still in development, and it's going to be
supported
together with the web version. Both versions are going to be
compatible, so
that all your settings and history will be transferred from one to
other.
In case you are interested in this project, reply here, or join
#huggle
on
freenode and ask there! _______________________________________________ Wikitech-l mailing list Wikitech-l@lists.wikimedia.org https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/wikitech-l
