Hi,
I've seen that wikipedia runs on a 1.6devel version of mediawiki. (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Version )
Although I tried to open my eyes I couldn't find the files for any 1.6 version on http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=34373#files nor http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Download
Can someone tell me what this version is ?
Thanks François

It was decided Wikipedia would run from the latest development version in CVS. To make a checkout, see:

Thanks for this url. But as there aren't so many explanation, can you tell me in which modules I shall look for the version 1.6devel ?
Thanks for your guidance. François

The module with core MediaWiki code is 'phase3'. That said, since you weren't able to figure it out on your own, you probably *really* don't want to be running code from CVS. I suggest you grab the latest 1.5 release from here, instead:

Hi Ivan,
Yes, I looked pretty dumb on this one :-) I made a few extensions for mediawiki always with a simple text editor. I've never used CVS, because it is not much in use in human resources lessons :-) So today I had to install a cvs client, find out how it works, and discover that it required a name for a module... which I didn't have.
If you think that I'm a bit of a lost cause, you might be right :-)
Thanks for your advice, which is indeed, truly sensible. François www.fxparlant.net

Super Ivan,
It worked fine !! Someone recommanded me Eclipse which contains a cvs client. It downloaded the phase3 and it seems to be indeed the same as my usual mediawiki folder.
thanks for your help
Next step, finding out how to play with a diff file ...
