Would it be possible to put the Google search box in as had been done in the past? I realize that's lame in comparison but it's better than nothing.
Yes, please!
It's no good as a long term solution, but it's something. And it does work, kind of.

Hi all, Do you ever discuss about automatic number separator ? (ex: 12512 -> 12,512) In french Wikipedia it is a real problem because our separator is the not veiwable character : " ". So if we want Wikipedia show "12 512" we need to write "12 512". This make editable version of article sometine very difficulte to read. I would like an *option* to cut all number framed by space (or other word separators) and length more than 4. Exemple :
100 -> 100 1000 -> 1000 9999 -> 9999 10000 -> 10 000 (separator!) R10000 -> R10000 123456789 -> 123 456 789 (separator!)
Any hope to see this feature implemented ?

It does for some browsers, but as soon as someone edits the article with either Mozilla 1.4 or Opera 5 or older or some other browser that has this bug, they are changed to normal spaces again.
This was discussed here recently between Anthère and Vincent.
Greetings, Timwi
I suggest include automatic redirection when happens a probable error in the article address.
In example, if I write www.wikipedia.org/diesel really I wanted to write www.wikipedia.org/wiki/diesel . The server could redirect to the correct wiki address.
Regards.
The only problem with this idea is that we pretty much commit to supporting those URLs in the longrun if we do that.

One could use a tag to indicate : don´t use the separator (i.e. in spanish wikipedia the year 2000 it´s 2000 not 2.000); for example <nsep> ( no separator)</nsep>. Excepting because of this little problem, it´s a good idea.

It's why I suggest this only fot number more than 4 characters length ;o) I suppose <nowiki></nowiki> may solve (rare) case you don't want automatic separator.

Please don't get me wrong, but your one-line postings aren't doing anything contructive. People would have replied to the first mail if they were interested.
My impression is that developers are hooked up on much more important issues just now.
