Hey,
I know requiring unit tests was discussed in the past, anyone remembers
where and what the result was?
The most cohesive discussion on this I can remember was in the thread
"Architecture Guidelines: Writing Testable Code".
https://lists.wikimedia.org/pipermail/wikitech-l/2013-June/thread.html
There was quite some discussion about testing at the time in general,
though that was quite scattered communication wise. This has presumably
resulted in people being more motivated to enhance the testing
infrastructure, learn about testing, and of course write tests. AFAIK there
has never been general agreement on that writing tests for most of the code
one writes is a good idea though.
Cheers
