this is the SQL i'm using, it works for MySQL but I'm not sure about other databases, the "ORDER BY rc_id DESC LIMIT 1" should get you the next oldest edit.
That won't work, because sooner or later, older edits (that are no longer current) will show up, and if people hit Revert, Bad Things will happen.
Also, the SQL needs to do a bit of a JOIN against a HEAP table.
