Ok, since everyone seams a bit interested in WikiCode. I'll make a happy
note on string padding.
If you'll compare StringFunctions' notes:
http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:StringFunctions#.23pad:
Against my live testing:
http://dev.wiki-tools.com/wiki/WikiCode#.23pad
You'll nicely see that StringFunctions' big error with multibyte
characters does not exist inside of my padding functions. In fact, I
also handle <nowiki/> tags which StringFunctions does not.
In fact as you'll notice, I actually pass through the nowiki tags, while
correctly handling their actual length. So real freaky strange things
still work.
*However* I do have one warning for those doing extremely freaky strange
things. The very last piece of the pad string is handled differently
than the rest. Unlike the others because I often need to truncate it to
a certain length, because of this I end up needing to unstrip it. So if
you are freaky strange enough to try and use a set of ParserFunctions
inside nowiki tags then those parser functions may unexpectedly end up
being evaluated in the last part of the padded string.
Unless Tim has some magical method of allowing me to iterate through the
nowiki tags inside of a string, and alter the contents inside of them to
trim the length of the string, while still keeping the nowiki tags as
themselves.
Oh, when you look at my examples do make one note. I've currently got
one bug to handle. My actual trimming code needs a little fixing up, atm
the final portion of the pad string isn't actually being truncated so
sometimes the padstring is actually a bit longer than it should be. For
those I have a result column that shows what they will end up as when I
finish the code.
