The new server has a single disk (IBM SCSI Ultra-320 80-pin 34 Gig
10,000 RPM, ??? seek time). The drive is brand new, and ther is room
in the server case for one more 80-pin SCSI drive.
Also, there is 1 Gig of RAM (using 2 of 4 memory slots). The board
requires ECC Registered PC133 SDRAM (The ones that are in there now
are made by CORSAIR, currently). It will take up to 1 Gig chips.

Yes, and the vmstat showed that the CPU is even idle while disk
I/O is rather high. It's not mysql doing nothing. It's mysql
waiting for the disk. The new server, how many disks will it
have?
