If you don't need the really-really-really stable woody i'd recommend to
change you /etc/apt/sources.list to point to a testing mirror. Stable is
more than one year old now, testing has matured a lot in the meantime.
Afaik the only reason why testing isn't released as the new stable yet is
the installer not being ready on all (!) architectures supported.
On the other hand you could try woody backports (
http://www.backports.org/
for example).
