According to Wikipedia (emphasis mine)[1]:
"The Business Process Modeling Notation (BPMN) is a standardized *graphical
notation* for drawing business processes in a workflow. "
Thus it would seem that BPMN is already an image file of some kind. Making
an image thumbnail should be the same as with any image[2].
