I propose for Aryeh Gregor to be granted the right to approve changes against
MediaWiki core and extensions, by adding him to the mediawiki LDAP group.
Please voice support or concerns on
<https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T230979>
Aryeh has been contributing to MediaWiki on and off for a decade or so, both as
a volunteer and a contractor. He joined gerrit only a year ago, but he had
commit access already back in the day when MediaWiki was still managed on SVN.
In the time I have been working with Aryeh, he has shown excellent skill and
good judgement. Granting him merge rights would allow him to contribute not only
by writing code, but also by approving changes made by others.
Aryeh commented on the ticket to note the following:
> My older contributions are available via git log --author simetrical. I

Hello,
The DockerSIG[0] meeting for this month is cancelled due to the agenda
being empty. Future DockerSIG meetings are still planned.
Please do email myself or reach out in other ways if you have something
you'd like to add to the agenda for our next session; even if it's a
request and not something you'd lead.
Best,
Greg

Hi all!
Tonight, TechCom will host a discussion about improving the RFC process on
#wikimedia-office, at 21:00 UTC (23:00 CEST, 2pm PDT).
This session is not about approving a specific proposal, but rather an
opportunity to explore options and gather ideas. We have been collecting
thoughts on this for a while, see <https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T216308>.
If you have suggestions on how to improve the process, please join us!

Sorry for cross-posting!
Reminder: Technical Advice IRC meeting this week **Wednesday 3-4 pm UTC**
on #wikimedia-tech.
Questions can be asked in English, Persian, German!
The Technical Advice IRC Meeting (TAIM) is a weekly support event for
volunteer developers. Every Wednesday, two full-time developers are
available to help you with all your questions about MediaWiki, gadgets,
tools and more! This can be anything from "how to get started" over "who
would be the best contact for X" to specific questions on your project.
If you know already what you would like to discuss or ask, please add your
topic to the next meeting:
https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Technical_Advice_IRC_Meeting
Hope to see you there!

Hello All,
I am glad to see too many comments and views, these conversations help
understand and improve upon. Let me be clear that this is purely a {HACK},
this is not official and it's only a hack, a step in AI. Most people have
concern on the following issue
*Privacy* - If some one wants to use such feature app need image to train
the model (AI Model), which is store in encrypted blob format (image not
visible to anyone, If any one want to use such feature then he have to use
under CC License)
*@Benjamin Lees : *Its secure! its not simply you show {X} Image to camera
and simply login to his account. What face technique I am using same technique
using in payment industry.
*@**Winged Blades : *Very soon I will share source code and blog, I hope
you will get you all answer.
@*Subhashish Panigrahi : *I went though all your comments, If some one want
to use such feature then he have to use under CC licence.
If you more doubt will discuss on phone/email.
Thanks & Regards

Hi All,
Here are the minutes from this week's TechCom meeting:
* RFC Meeting on RFC 2019 Process Amendments
<https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T216308> on 21 August at 2pm
Pacific/23:00 CEST/21:00 UTC in #wikimedia-office
* Hosted remote/in person meeting from Wikimania Hackathon
* Discussed: <https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T227776> Generalize
ParserCache into a generic service class for large "current"
page-derived data.
* Summary:
* general support for the idea of having a generic store for
artifacts derived from page content ("cache" seems a misleading term)
* functionality should be implemented internally to MW core
for now, based on the storage infrastructure of the existing
ParserCache
* making such functionality available to standalone services
raises concerns, e.g. about checking access permissions
* we may want a way to add access flags to the cached objects
* ParserCache can already store multiple variants. The new
system would just add the ability to add other things beyond variants,
and to store them for more than just the latest revision of a page.
