Bonjour,
I have a problem that I can't solve: when I want to purt a word in
italic in a link, the link doesn't work anymore...
ie.
[[Contenu de la Lilavati]] works
[[Contenu de la ''Lilavati'']] doesn't work: iit is displayed "verbatim"
with the two square brackets and Lilavati is in italic though.
Thank you.

Bonjour,
I try to put somme math formulae in a wiki text and the result is not
the one expected: the formula is displayed in teX notation
<math>\sqrt{2}</math> diplays \sqrt{2} in html...
thanks.

bonjour,
I have many problems today:
1- footnotes are not working: blah blah blah<ref>coin coin coin</ref>
gives only one as an exposant after last "blah" and no footnote...
2- Whatever my efforts are to write while logged in, the result appears
as if I was "anonymous": only my today IP number is given....
This sucks me!
Thanks for help.
PS I try to finish some page on

MediaWiki 1.71
Function initialiseFromUser( &$userInput ) {
Line 4591
$this->mEditSection = true;
meaning imho that by default the possibility to edit section is set to
true. I think this is a reason why in LocalSettings.php
$wgDefaultUserOptions['editsection'] = 0
does'nt work (It did not in my wiki).
In MediaWiki 1.46 you can find the line.
$this->mEditSection = $user->getOption( 'editsection' );
Here the possibility to edit section is defined by LocalSettings.php.
I used this lines for my purpose
if ($user->getID()) {
$this->mEditSection = $user->getOption( 'editsection' );
} else {
$this->mEditSection = 0;
}

In Mediawiki 1.71 in LocalSettings.php i set
$wgDefaultUserOptions['editsection'] = 0;
But anonymos users still see [edit].
I got it worked in an older mediawiki-version.
Are there still further things to do. Dit there change something in
Mediawiki 1.71
Thx, HeinJ

Could we have a special page that lists all protected pages?
With possibility for narrowing queries by namespace or page title. Maybe
with optional "protected by" filter. And filter by protection level
(semi-/full protected).
It should report protected pages with the effective protection state
(last protection event -- protecting sysop, protection level, date/time,
protection summary).
Currently there is http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Log/protect and
a bot on en.wikipedia.org compiles http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WP:PP
from that (doing a lot of edits to that page).
As a minor side note it might be worth considering to limit access to
listings of semi-protected templates to sysops (as that could serve as a
recipe for autoconfirmed accounts to vandalize pages via semi-protected
templates).
