The problem is: {{NUMBEROFARTICLES}} gives 49.936 articles while ns0 pages are much fewer, about 44000 (of which, 2000 redirects).

That number is not always updated (especially after mass deletions and the like). I see possibly incorrect numbers also for es.source and de.source. By the way, following previous discussions, I've opened http://wikisource.org/wiki/Wikisource:Scriptorium#Include_pages_.28and_possibly_indexes_and_authors.29_in_official_article_count, a proposal to make the official article count more realistic on all Wikisources. Please comment and support so that we can file the request to sysadmins on bugzilla. After that, we'll need in any case to update the article count, and problems like it.source's one (if any) will be resolved as well.
