Hello Indic Wikisource proofreaders,
We are happy to announce that the Indic Wikisource Proofreadthon 2021 [1]
is starting from tomorrow 15 August 2021 and will continue up to 31 August
2021.
Like last year, we are facing the devastating effects of COVID-19, we urge
you to stay inside your home to avoid exposure to the deadly virus.
We are also expecting higher participation than the previous contest
We heartily welcome new Wikimedians from various parts of the country to
work on restoring our literary heritage to the digital era. Just like the
previous contest held in November 2020, we again promising to wrap up
everything within the expected timeline after the competition ends. We are
going to keep our promise again. :-)
Welcome you all to the contest.
Regards,
Jayanta Nath

Hello all,
Is it ok for all, if I book slot(s) at Wikimania Unconference
<https://wikimania.wikimedia.org/wiki/2021:Unconference> for Wikisource
meetup? If yes, what would be the preferred date and time? Or can we have
multiple meetups to accommodate all timezones?
The tables in the Unconference can only accommodate 20 people max. So, if
there are enough interested Wikisourcers, multiple tables can also be
booked for a given period of time, but the inherent structure of the Remo
platform will prevent inter-table interaction among participants, which is
the only disadvantage.
Please share your thoughts on how to move forward.
Regards,
Bodhisattwa
Hi all,
I've submitted a live round table at Wikimania. Check it out:
https://pretalx.com/individuals-collectives-session-submission-2021/talk/re…
It will be the occasion to discuss with Sam Wilson about the OCR
improvements, and its testing. Possibly Natalia Rodriguez, Product Manager
at Community Tech, will illustrate us the improvements they have in mind. I
hope that we will use this occasion to make progress on the technical side!
Cheers,
Alex
