After long discussions, me and Chiara Storti reviewed the "Pride and
Prejudice" item and some of it's related items.
We then wrote this *long* message here:
https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Wikidata_talk:WikiProject_Books#Wikiproject_B…
It's the first attempt to find a solution for Wikidata and books,
especially regarding Wikisource.
It's not complete but it's a start.
I encourage you to take your time to read it.
As Sam Wilson is working on Ws-search, we could start populating some items
with the right statements.

CropTool now can crop & uoload into Commons illustrations from djvu and pdf
files. We are testing the tool at it.wikisource and we all agree that it is
now a surprisingly useful tool for daily wikisource work.
Please test it and give some feedback and some more suggestions to its
author, Danmichaelo (*thanks Dan!*)
The local gadget to call the tool from Commons::
https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/MediaWiki:Gadget-CropTool.js
should be implemented into wikisource projects with some changes; see
it.source version:
https://it.wikisource.org/wiki/MediaWiki:Gadget-CropTool.js as an example.

Hi all,
We are planning for a proofreading contest in Bengali Wikisource. In this
regard, we are looking for a tool to track proofreading counts by editors
within a given period of time. Any suggestions?
Regards,

Subject: [Wikimediaindia-l] seeking help with Hindi projects in Wikisource...
To: Wikimedia India Community list <wikimediaindia-l(a)lists.wikimedia.org>
Hello,
Can anyone here refer me to someone who is active in making
Hindi-language contributions to Wikisource? I wish to meet someone
with experience in that language and project. Otherwise, can anyone
suggest to me which Indic languages in Wikisource seem to be most
active?
Is anyone able to make a recommendation for any OCR software for
converting scanned Hindi language documents to digital text? Does
anyone know anything about in-Wikisource support for OCR in Hindi
language? Does it exist? Is there documentation?
Thanks for anything anyone can share.
yours,

Hi everyone.
Thanks to Samwilson, we have know a pre-alpha tool that help us retrieve
metadata for books in Wikisource:
https://tools.wmflabs.org/ws-search/?title=%25&author=&lang=it&output_forma…
it's in very early stage so please be kind and generous: (and also, if you
can, help :-)
The tool will hopefully help each community in deal with Wikidata import.
BUT:
today a discovered, with a bit of horror, that more than one year ago a
"rogue" wikidata editor imported thousands of pages (without properties!)
from Wikisources without even noticing the communities...
https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/User_talk:GZWDer#wikisource_mass_importhttps://www.wikidata.org/wiki/User_talk:GZWDer#Stop_creating_items
I revived the last thread (second link) because I think this was not
helpful to us as communities. I don't think we can't fix it (there is also
the chance that he kind of helped us, if we now use the right tools): but,
still, I wanted to express my frustration in seeing this kind of action.
I wonder how the French Wikisource community solved it, for example.
