Travel coordination - timeline help?

Hi all, please see the travel coordination page:http://wikimania2008.wikimedia.org/wiki/Travel_coordination This includes a timeline, but the scaling is bad. Could someone please take a look at it and fix it? The table worked great last year! Once that is done, please invite everybody to add their data too! Best regards, Lodewijk

Accessibility question

Hi all, On OTRS (wikimania-info queue) I got a question about the accessibility with wheelchairs both in the venue (I assume this is OK) and the transport between cairo and alexandria. https://secure.wikimedia.org/otrs/index.pl?Action=AgentTicketZoom&TicketID=… is the ticket. Could someone from the local team help out with this? This attendee also would like a mobile phone number for emergencies. If someone can help me with helping this lady, please :) Thanks a lot! It is simply common courtesy to respond to everyone to applied, letting them know whether they were granted a scholarship or not. Not everyone is subscribed to this list, for example. I am rather shocked that at least a general "We are sorry, but we are unable to fund you" email is not being sent out to those who did not receive scholarships. Thanks, Awadewit

Visiting Egypt after Wikimania

Hi everyone, I have a little problem concerning staying in Egypt after Wikimania: I have guaranteed lodging with a friend of my family who lives in Cairo, but as far as I know she'll be working all day and therefore not available for sightseeing. Now, I am the first to admit that I am the most scatterbrained, absent-minded person ever; I also freely admit that I get lost in supermarkets (even the one I use every week). I really, truly do. I am infamous for turning a street corner and then wondering which way I had come from. Family members place bets on how far I am from my intended destination whenever I go out. Honestly. I am afraid that if I go out alone in Cairo I will get seriously lost. My point is, are there any Wikimedians thinking of staying on in Cairo/elsewhere in Egypt after Wikimania? And if there is, would they mind having me tag along while sightseeing? I asked on the Wikimania IRC channel if it was OK to send this e-mail to the list. In urgent need of graphic designers for Wikimania posters

Hello all, we are looking at creating Posters and Flyers to advertise the conference in universities and such places around Alexandria, so as to increase our potential audience in the Arabic world. For that, we need people to help us design those flyers. They'll need to be in printable format (so something that is high resolution enough to be printed in the end) and graphics should be under a free license. I am looking for a team of two or three people ready to work with us on this. And I need this team to be assmebled by tomorrow night (Monday night) and be ready to deliver the first drafts on Thursday night. Any takers? Scholarship notifications

All: I have not yet heard back regarding scholarship decisions for Wikimania. Several times during the past month, I sent an email to the scholarships address ( <wikimania-scholarships(a)wikimedia.org> ) inquiring when decisions would be announced, and I have not received a response. At this point, it may be impossible for me to attend even if I am awarded the full amount I originally requested, as travel prices have risen. Does anyone know when scholarship decisions will be announced? Since other summer plans I have are contingent on this information, it's important that I at least know when I will know as soon as possible. Thanks! -- Seth
