Hi everyone,
I'm here to announce an important project that the GLAM and Culture team at
the Wikimedia Foundation is taking part in during the next few weeks.
Due to Outreach having limited readership and visibility within the
movement, our community newsletters don’t always receive the attention they
deserve. To address this, we’re working with our colleagues in the Movement
Communications team to *migrate the This Month in GLAM newsletter
<https://outreach.wikimedia.org/wiki/GLAM/Newsletter> from Outreach to
Meta-Wiki*.
Both teams are working on this task in the next few weeks in order to:
1. Increase visibility and participation in the GLAM newsletter.
2. Ensure the GLAM community has a place (Meta-Wiki) where they feel
seen, engaged, and supported by the Wikimedia community, partners, and
Foundation.
3. Increase the amount of multilingual (or translatable) content to
engage contributors from other languages and more regions.
This activity already has the support of the newsletter’s main editors. It
was also already announced in this October report in the newsletter
<https://outreach.wikimedia.org/wiki/GLAM/Newsletter/October_2021/Contents/W…>
.
The migration of the report pages, talk pages, categories, and templates
will happen from *November 19th to 30th*. This period is important to
accommodate the migration before the reports from next month. Any other
modifications or corrections will be made before *December 15th*.
If you have any questions or ideas about the migration, please contact the
GLAM & Culture team at glam(a)wikimedia.org and the community editors at
thismonthinglam(a)gmail.com.

Hi everyone,
The Wikimedia Commons Open GLAM platform holds monthly online calls, and I
think these are of interest to the GLAM-Wiki community too. Everyone is
welcome.
See below for info on the next one (later this week).
There's also a mailing list:

Subject: Open GLAM Platform Call - November 18 - 17:00 CEST/ 16:00 UTC
To: CC Open GLAM <cc-open-glam(a)creativecommons.org>
Dear all,
We have received quite some new requests for the mailing list.
Therefore, this is our pleasure to welcome all new members!
We would like to provide a general reminder for our monthly call.
On November 18, (next Thursday), at 17:00 CEST/ 16:00 UTC, we will have our
second call.
The Open GLAM Platform Call is an opportunity for the Open GLAM Community
to get involved. Community members are invited to identify and shape our
next steps.
Since we started this call recently, we suggested discussing the work plan
for 2022, including:
- What are Open GLAM emerging topics?
- What forms could our approaches take?
- What should be the scope and priorities of this group?
- Should we create working groups?
- Should we identify potential working groups leaders?
We would also like to remind you that the agenda is open.
We look forward to including your proposals in the agenda
<https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Uf7gV8u6viF6IVnAj0S09XByzpQbPKFlAHJDNLC…>
.
For your convenience, we shared a calendar invitation as a placeholder in
your calendars. Of course, we encourage you to accept or refuse it, as your
time and availability allows.
Kind regards,
Camille

Hello Wikisource enthusiasts and friends of Wikisource,
I hope you are doing alright! I would like to invite you to celebrate 18
years of Wikisource with the incoming CEO of the WMF, Maryana Iskendar
<https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikimedia_Foundation_Chief_Executive_Office…>
.
The event is scheduled to take place in 2 weeks from today on *24 November
2021* from *1:30 - 3:00 PM UTC *(check your local time
<toollabs:zonestamp/1637760610>). Feel free to drop me a message on
telegram (@satdeep) or via email (sgill(a)wikimedia.org) to add your email
address to the calendar invite.
Maryana is hoping to learn more about the Wikisource community and the
project at this event and it would be really nice if you can share your
answers to the following questions:
- What motivates you to contribute to Wikisource?
- What makes the Wikisource community special?
- What are the major challenges facing the movement going forward?
- What are your questions to Maryana?
You can share your responses during the live event but in case the date and
the time doesn't work for you, you can share your responses on the event
page on Wikisource
<https://wikisource.org/wiki/Wikisource:Eighteenth_Birthday> or in case you
would like to remain anonymous, you can share your responses directly with
me.
Also, feel free to reach out to me in case you would like to give a short
presentation about your and your community's work at the beginning of the
session.
Looking forward to seeing you all soon!
Best
Satdeep

Greetings everyone,
A reminder that submissions for the community tracks at WikidataCon are open until October 20, 2021 (midnight anywhere in the world). You are welcome to submit a proposal to the conference! Giovanna Fontenelle and I are helping plan the GLAM track, which will be held Saturday, October 30th from 15:00<https://zonestamp.toolforge.org/1635606008> to 23:00<https://zonestamp.toolforge.org/1635634851> UTC. There are a variety of sessions you can propose from lightning talks to presentations and discussion sessions.
WikidataCon is an event held every 2 years coinciding with Wikidata’s birthday and is a time for the Wikidata community to come together to learn from each other. This year it will be held virtually and runs from October 29-October 31, 2021. It’s a great way to share your work with the rest of the Wikidata community.
Overview of the Community Tracks: https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Wikidata:WikidataCon_2021/Program/Day_2_and_3…
Information about proposing a session is further down on that same page: https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Wikidata:WikidataCon_2021/Program/Day_2_and_3…
