Today we are excited to release the three winners that are the result of the international jury process for Wiki Loves Africa 2016.

The winners represent Music and Dance from Botswana to Rwanda and Tanzania. The photos were chosen from 7,917 images and audio and video files that were contributed by 836 people https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:Images_from_Wiki_Loves_Africa_2016 from across the African continent and beyond.

Also, it saddens me to say that one person (who is not a wikipedian really) started a campaign to ask people to vote on one of the pictures.
