Also, it saddens me to say that one person (who is not a wikipedian really) started a campaign to ask people to vote on one of the pictures.

We would like to thank the tireless efforts of the Jury - who you can meet here - and the help of Lilyofthewest, Paweł Marynowski and StephenLePorte who assisted us through their new Montage Jury Tool. 

The winners represent Music and Dance from Botswana to Rwanda and Tanzania. The photos were chosen from 7,917 images and audio and video files that were contributed by 836 people from across the African continent and beyond.
