The general idea : Creation of a set of supporting tools in two
languages (English and French) to use when approaching associations,
galleries, libraries, archives and museums, with an African flavor.
This is very much still an idea only. The last few months, I felt it was
needed.
But I'd like your feedback on this, ideas, criticisms etc.

Hi Flo,
Sorry, I already mistakenly ask you this question on Wikimedia-I list (I had thought it was African mailing list) but let me ask here again, is there a category we could place articles translated as part of 16 WikiWomen? If no, can we create a category for them in our local language Wikipedia? I mean adding something like "Category:16WikiWomen" to the talk page of translated article.
Best,
Isaac.

I think adding the articles to a [[Category:16WikiWomen]] is a beautiful

Dear Mr. or Mrs.,
I thank you for your endorsements that led my Inspire proposal about creating a project to automatically detect and invite professors emeriti to freely contribute to Wikipedia to be ranked second as shown in https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Grants:IdeaLab/Inspire/Leaderboard. So that this important idea would be ranked first and have more interest from Wikimedia Foundation, more endorsements are needed. So, please endorse my IdeaLab Inspire proposal by clicking on Endorse in https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Grants:IdeaLab/Inviting_Professors_Emeriti_…. I will be happy for that.

Hi all,
if it's not too late you could include

Dear Mr. or Ms.,
I have submitted a proposal to IdeaLab Inspire about the creation of a group that searches for, invites and convinces professors emeriti to work on Wikipedia. As you already know, these professors emeriti have much free time, are willing to spread their scientific proficiency and knowledge worldwide so that younger researchers and people can learn from it and consequently will be happy to contribute to Wikipedia as it can easily help them achieve what they like. If you liked this important idea, please support it by endorsing it in https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Grants:IdeaLab/Inviting_Professors_Emeriti_….
Yours Sincerely,
Houcemeddine Turki
Hello Florence,
I got your message on Wikimedia Egypt page and I'll start work on it.
Thank you for your kind reminder.

Looking for an Arabic/English speaker to help improve the English
version of the [[Asmaa Mahfouz]] article using the very good Arabic
version. Please help. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asmaa_Mahfouz
In about a week, we will launch a friendly "translate-a-thon" effort on
16 biographies of African women so that they get translated in "as many
languages as possible" (at least 16).
In the meanwhile, we need your help to "improve/polish" the ENGLISH
Wikipedia version of the biographies selected (as it is likely to be the
"master" of most translations). #16wikiwomen
Please join and help us to do that :
https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/16_African_Women_Translate-a-thon#Our_list_…
The complete list includes
* Malouma, Mauritanian singer, songwriter and politician
* Nozizwe Madlala-Routledge, politician, South Africa
* Cri-Zelda Brits, South African crickete
* Manal al-Sharif, Saudi women's rights activist
* Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti, Nigerian women's rights activist
* Flora Nwapa, Nigerian Igbo writer
* Samia Yusuf Omar, Sprinter from Somalia
* Maggie Laubser, South African painter
* Fatima Massaquoi, Pioneer educator in Liberia
* Frances Ames, South African neurologist, psychiatrist, and human
rights activist
* Asmaa Mahfouz, Egyptian activist
* Yaa Asantewaa, Ghana, former Queen Mother
* Fatou Bensouda, Gambian lawyer
* Martha Karua, Kenyan politician
* Chinwendu Ihezuo, Nigerian professional footballer
* Nassima Saifi, Paralympian athlete from Algeria
Please defend the colors of your nation if one biography is about
someone from your country !
For those bilingual French/English, please help improve the English
version of
* https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nozizwe_Madlala-Routledge
using the French version
For those bilingual Arabic/English, please help improve the English
version of
* https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manal_al-Sharif
* https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asmaa_Mahfouz
using the Arabic version
Thanks !
Florence
