It occurred to me "wouldn't it be nice if Linus Torvalds had decided he really needed bug tracking done right and written a solution". He didn't write a solution, but he did rant:

We're complaining about the reporting. How is Bugzilla for connecting developers and bugs? How do developers actually get connected to problems? Particularly problems where the reporter isn't clear on the component.
