Hi,
I posted a question at https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Talk:Git/New_repositories , but i'm not sure that that page is watched, so i'm poking here, too:
I couldn't find any guide for migrating an existing extension from SVN to Git. The extension in question is TranslationNotifications, which is not currently WMF-deployed, but probably will be soon. And the question is relevant for all other extension.
I've heard this question from a couple of people already, so here's the official answer on-list.
Right now I'm waiting on the dust to settle with the initial migrations before we do another batch of extensions. We're working on l10n updates right now, and fixing the meta-repo for checking out all extensions. Also the wmf branch so we can get back to normal deploys needs finishing. I don't want to put off migrations for a long time, but I'd like to finish ironing out some of the rough edges before we put another group through the process. I'm thinking...a week maybe?
At that time, I'll post a list for extension authors to sign up for the next batch (maybe another 100 or so?). That should pretty much cover the ~250 or so most active extensions. Repeat this until we're done with extensions.
Beyond that, we'll start moving over other misc. projects and making more and more of the SVN repo read-only.
I want to thank *everyone* for being so totally awesome with this process. I've put a lot of work into trying to do this right and the feedback (positive and negative) has been immensely helpful and at times nearly overwhelming :)
