Not only that, but also something I haven't seen anyone note in this thread: the gains are very small. The part of the population that uses text browsers is a) very small and b) technologically literate - i.e. most of them would already know about SOPA. Although there are more people using scriptblock, these people will be in general also quite technologically literate.
Remember - this banner was not there for us to see. It was for the average office worker, teacher and students. And we have all laughed at the reactions on twitter - reactions that only showed we have reached the target audience.
