:-( I have noticed stuff like that too... but likely, I administer the mostly-unknown mailing lists. :-)
It's a necessary evil, the only thing I can tell you is to make all e-mails like that to go to a specific folder, take a quick look, and then delete what you don't need. :(

At least for me, it's spam that goes to owner and yes, it has increased lately. Mostly with subjects such as "download foundation-l-owner" or "experience foundation-l-owner"
