Well, databases of real world information sounds like the sort of thing that's in our (institutional our) scope - Wikipedia, Wiktionary, Wikibooks, Wikisource...we don't have a free-content map project at the moment, but that may be due to the prohibitive pricing of launching the Wikimedia satellite.
