I'm sick and tired of hearing about this. Increasing the limit won't stop it since then people will complain about that limit too.
As far as I know the recursion protection was changed to work differently in 1.4 so there is not a hard number limit. Can someone confirm, and is it a simple change to port to 1.3 or not?

Well no, people wont complain, the french complained about the 5 limit because they use it in their == External links ==, now, alot of pages have 5-7 external links but not alot have 10+ And very few pages have more than 5 images but very very few have more than 10, most have 0-3.
So no, i dont think that people will complain again if you raise the limit to 10.

Well, I think that this is really useless, and that somebody do that anymore. But they are other useful application, like the page for the Olympic Games where country name and flag are display with a template.
cf. http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeux_Olympiques_d%27%C3%A9t%C3%A9_de_2004 and all subpages, like http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Athl%C3%A9tisme_aux_jeux_Olympiques_de_2004

Humm. Not so sure.

You're not yet sick and tired of the case-sensitivity debate on Wiktionary? :)

You will certainly make me happy backporting the "recursion protection" from 1.4. Not only case-sensitivity is on my wish list. Today is a good day anyway :)
