So here at the Wikimedia main office in San Francisco we've got a spiffy printer upstairs that can churn out large posters, banners, etc (24" / circa 60cm wide). I've been thinking that the walls in Engineering could use some decoration, and am looking around for some nicely thematic things.

I know it's not a visualization, but we could hunt down all xkcd comics that reference Wikipedia and combine those into a poster or something.

I like http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Wikimedia-servers-2010-12-28.svg in the same vein, although it's a bitch to keep updated. It would be awesome if we could find or write some widget that would update a visualisation like this automagically...
