i tried to have a look at the newly created articles on de:, but Special:Newpages shows only articles from the last ~3 days. But i remember that it used to show new articles from the past week. Do i missed an announcement, has anything changed in the software or is it a random feature?

Special:Newpages uses the recentchanges table, which has been rebuilt on the new server. Due to the way the tables are currently arranged, this means it won't have marked as new any new pages that were subsequently edited prior to the database being copied to the new server.
In a week this will be a moot point, since those will all have dropped off the list.
