"Multilingual wiki search temporarily disabled on account of server is slow as heck"
Now, whit the new server, can it be made active again?
There used to be only one hyperlink out of that page. A link to http://www.wikipedia.com
Can that be changed to http://meta.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_provisional_portal_of_Wikipedia ?

I was thinking of rewriting it to talk to the databases directly, but I'll put it back up for now...

Sure, why not? :)

Hello,
My problem is :
Daniel C Boyer... you know, this "*relatively* unknown" US painter. There had been a lot of discussions on en:wki to admit "him" as an article.
The same problem exists on fr: with the same Daniel C Boyer (DCB).
This afternoon, an anonym IP made 2 contributions, adding the DCB's birth date in the ephemerids and details on the DCB entry.
Then, 30 seconds later, the known DCB user made 2 little (minuscule) contributions, I think to say "you see, I'm not here just to make my advertising, I make contributions".
I feel this is unfair ! and I wanted to check from where (traceroute) these contributions were made.
here is the end of the traceroute on the IP 141.219.44.92

You know, there are not a lot of contributions from Chicago on fr: ;-)
So, my question is: How to retrieve the IP address...
merci / thanks / danke / gracias

I really don't see what your problem is. It's not like we're about to run out of space. There's no need to harass Boyer.
Finally, wikitech-l@wikipedia.org is not the appropriate place to discuss trying to stalk other users.
The Cunctator, Lee Daniel Crocker,
Wrong question, wrong place to ask. :-( I apologize to you.
Goodbye

I don't see the problem. It does seem a bit tacky for him to have written an entry on himself, and I wouldn't want to encourage the practice generally, but it doesn't seem worth worrying about very much.
