If you consider the extension is potentially useful to
Wikimedia, or
you're announcing the update of one we already use, I'd be inclined to
advocate mentioning it here (wikitech-l) too.
I think (of course! Thats why I created it :-) it is usefull for the
wikipedia/wikimedia, but since it is currently not in use I always found
it a bit odd to announce it here.
The possibilities are endless when it comes to getting
the message
across.
Yes, but of course I'd not want to annoy people or "spam" the list with
announcements: While there were about 40 releases in the last year, but I
did sent only about 4 or 5 anouncements. But getting it to more
"ordinary" users of mediawiki might be a good idea.
