I wrote up some quick documentation on OpenID as a provider. Feel free to modify it, especially for inaccurately used terminology. It's also likely a good time to start bikeshed discussions on the urls, as I think it'll end up taking a while to lock that down.

I supposed if I take issue with calling URL choice a bikeshed, that would constitute bikeshedding, right? :-)

If you have purely technical reasons for the choice of a domain name, rather than aesthetic ones, I'm all for not calling those reasons bikeshedding ;)

Any reasons I would ever have for advancing a specific domain name for such a thing would be technical. In this case, the job is to make it as generic as possible *without* making it so generic that it's not obvious to the general public how it serves the most common case.
Since I don't have a complete apprehension of what it does, I won't be advancing a specific suggestion at this time (though I am a published author on this topic :-).
