Hello,
today we have all database migration to Oracle 10g underway. The code has been in development and testing for quite a long time already, and we are getting lots of nifty features immediately available afterwards. Stay tuned!
Though our database consultants prepared real-time migration plan, if you notice any problems, do tell.

I've noticed that the full-text database dumps for the past few days suddenly started validating their checksums. They also appear to be several terabytes too small. Does this qualify as a problem?

What happened to the Sharepoint migration? Surely an industry standard platform is more desirable.

Hoi, It is great to see that the SUN-Oracle partnership leads to tentative results on the ground. This whole "open source" thing has always been a sham. With SUN having bought MySQL, there is finally a way for this attempt at record keeping to go the way of the dodo. Thanks, GerardM

pardon me, but: which joke?
BTW: The wikis run as smooth as they normally do, I didn't really noticed the change.

Pah, it was silly and predictable. I like enwiki's jokes better (especially because they're all true).

Well aside from the joke itself, the reader's state affects the outcome! I was away for a couple of days, and when I came back and started reading wikitech-l emails to see what's new to the Wikiworld, guess what I saw in the last (newest) email I opened!

Make sure you use a real and professional OS such as HPUX.
