Info: I changed Extension:GoogleMaps
Changes:
see r113648 https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Special:Code/MediaWiki/113648 .
1. Bulk change from $wgGoogleMapsMessages[] to $messages[] array names 2. Bulk change of message prefix from gm- to googlemaps- 3. some first rearrangements and code layout improvements in GoogleMaps.php
Still to do: - autoloadclasses - bring the extension in conformity with mw code conventions
See https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:Google_Maps Confirmed to be running with MediaWiki trunk version, including the fix of formerly broken message texts https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=34405
Hey,
Info: I changed Extension:GoogleMaps
Do note that the Maps extension [0] can do most of what this extension can do, and a whole lot more. Might make more sense for you to improve that one (and yes, I'm biased :)

Cheers

thanks for info, I did not know of this one - used GoogleMaps since decades ;-)
I changed the download link in the Extension info box download = {{WikimediaDownload|Maps}}

Do not go and randomly change extension download links to others (even if they match functionality), Go back and revert that.
If a user wants to download E:Google Maps, they want E:Google Maps not E:Maps.
But do feel free to put a pointer in the page if there is a better extension to handle the tasks (feel free to use Template:Obsolete extension)
