I recently did a fresh install of MediaWiki 1.4.10 on a new server and I'm importing text from my old install. While it worked fine at first, it suddenly stopped letting me save edits to pages. Instead I seem to be stuck in preview! I see I'm not the first person to have this problem:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:MediaWiki_1.5_bugs#Submit_goes_to_Preview_screen_instead
But I can't figure out if there is any solution. Someone said something about creating a "sessions" directory, but creating such a directory in wiki folder didn'ty seem to make a difference.
Any ideas?
My wiki is here:
Thanks!

If your hosting provider is using a server farm with multiple hosts, the default PHP session configuration may be storing data on a local drive which breaks things.
Try checking the directions for running on Sourceforge, which has a similar issue: http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Sourceforge#Sessions
Just making a directory isn't enough; you'll have to configure it, as described there.

Brion,
Thanks. Unfortunately, however, that doesn't seem to solve the problem. I checked, and I believe I did everything write because inside my sessions folder are now files like:
"sess_o9222qk4vn56hfpfa15gscm2c3"
So I think sessions are being saved correctly. However, I still have the same problem. I can't save pages... Any other ideas what might be wrong?
This is frustrating because I did a fresh install of the software. I made one minor change to the Monobook skin (to use a wiki page for the navigation) and thats it. I even tried reverting back to the original skin and that didn't help. The only other change is a .htaccess file to redirect urls without the /wiki/ path that I now use, but disabling the .htaccess doesn't help either. (And yes, I did a purge command after each of these changes, as well as emptying my Firefox cache, just to be sure.)

OK. I just tried in Safari and it worked. So it must be something about my Firefox install, not my server. I'm using 1.5b2
