I am a new member to this mailing group & I am interested in taking part in the Outreach Programme for Women!
I would like to make my contribution to Wikimedia. I read through the webpage but I have no clear idea on where do download the code & source files etc.
Can someone out there please help?

You also need to ask a developer access on the following page: https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Developer_access
Once you have your creditentials, I will be happy to assist you to configure a developer environment (we use Git as source control and Gerrit as code review system) on our IRC channel #mediawiki on Freenode.

As an important note on that, one does not need developer access to play with the code (although I highly recommend you do get dev access). One can make anonymous checkouts to start exploring immediately without having to wait.
