Hi
I will implement downloadable PDF export to my customised MW, so that readers can export any wikipage in PDF. This code can be made available under GPL.
Is there anybody who would like to work with me on this, or is the MW team interested in incorporating this code in MW1.4?
Such an export tool has already been done, but it's not been incorporated (since that's the hard part I guess): http://wiki.auf-trag.de/

Thanks.
It is likely that PDF export will become part of MediaWiki once we have the wiki2XML parser running. I think there's even a PDF export thingy for XHTML from the W3C.

Clickable links. Clickable links in them PDFs would be a real boon.

I think that existing wiki2pdf generator was designed with print-outs in mind, so clickability wouldn't be very relevant: the German Wikipedia sells paper "WikiReaders" generated with it. So, yeah, a general-purpose wiki2pdf tool (such as the wiki2xml -> xml2pdf chain Magnus is describing) would indeed benefit from (optionally) clickable links.
