Jakob has asked me to write a tiny script, which can be called from the commandline to add (or to prepend) an arbitrary text to a wiki page. The script is for mediawiki 1.3.11 (which uses wpEditToken instead of wpEdittime to detect edit collisions)
Usage: php editpage.php "Pagename" "A new text, created by ~~~~" "edit summary, optional"
Code on request Tom

Oh, if it will work on the English Wikipedia, please, to me!
(See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:Bots#Bot_for_removing_spaces_bef... which is also http://snipurl.com/d2vd if you have problems)
I'm planning to program the bot tomorrow. If I don't get approval, I will just run it every minute for an hour or so. Just to test. :)

Oh, cool. That would be idial for automated programs to post "news" or similiar things to internal wikis. Or building a "news" form, where a human can enter a short news text and it is automatically added in the right place in the wiki.

Bitte, bitte, bitte! :)
