Hi,
Is it possible to install MediaWiki on a server on which I am not root?
Currently, I get Fatal error: Call to undefined function: getallheaders() in /home/ajh65/public_html/w/wiki.phtml on line 22
at http://www.srcf.ucam.org/~ajh65/w/wiki.phtml
Interestingly, the function "getallheaders" is indeed no-where defined in the entire source code of MediaWiki.
Any help?
Also, your install script has a little bug: passwords with an apostrophe in them lead to invalid SQL syntax.
Thanks, Timwi
Sure, We've done it on Ibiblio and on various hosts. Generally the way to use install.php is to modify it so you are imputing the Mysql password you have been assigned by the host rather than the root password, which you don't have.
That particular bug, never saw before though.

Yup.
Currently, I get Fatal error: Call to undefined function: getallheaders() in /home/ajh65/public_html/w/wiki.phtml on line 22
That's a built-in function: http://www.php.net/getallheaders
Looks like you're running PHP as a CGI instead of as an Apache module. This currently isn't supported, but if you can get it to work let us know how. It may be sufficient to just comment out the bits that use getallheaders (just debug code, I think).

I have no idea :-) ... It was indeed sufficient to comment out the line that uses getallheaders() (and the few debug lines that follow it).
So it works a little bit now; thanks for your help. My next problem is that I need to get the admins of the server to upgrade to MySQL 4 :)
