I don't think so. But if you just want to split the page in zones, that can be done with wikimarkup, which could be hidden in templates.

I haven't heard about such extension. However, I've read wikipedia article you mentioned, and it seems that you can "imitate" this notation by using templates with tables (keywords column, notes column), or, even, trying to use Semantic Forms to build a set of keywords/notes fields then output these with #ask queries. MediaWiki is not actively pushed to be used as CMS, yet. Dmitriy
