I'll have to try Brion's linux makefile later.
But, is there a
standalone http server for linux as well? Otherwise, this won't really
work...
Now just give me the wikipedia images, and we can start mass-dumping CDs :-)
After Magnus' great work, the need for a static html dump is quite
reduced. Anyway, I think there's still value in providing pure html dumps
for download (mirrors, older machines, platforms without servers, and so
on).
I'm currently sitting on a 724MB gzipped file (english wiki with images),
is there any way I can upload to
http://download.wikipedia.org?
I would like to put the Perl script I'm using into CVS, or some other
public places. Maybe on meta?
I am now working on language support (currently, only the English wiki can
be processed), so I expect to be able to process any language wiki in a
few days.
