Hello everyone. It's my first mail in this watchlist. I hope it will be OK. Yesterday the new mediawiki deployment was done in our (he)wiki. As result, at least one gadget (and maybe more, and maybe more in other wikis will come this eve) , WLM (Watchlist Manager) was destroyed. It's something very powerful, with a lot of features, and a lot of users. It hides automatically watched revisions, allows opening in a new window a diff for all revisions since the last time you visited a page, marking some revision as visited without a need to physically open a page if needed, marking any watched revision as unwatched for later work and much much more. I spent more than two months, at least 3-4 hours every day, to write it, and it have a lot of glowing accounts. But it does not work any more. Apparently, the watchlist html syntax was changed. I tried to find something in the versions roadmap, but couldn't. I tried a console, and saw, at least: * Grouping view group members syntax was changed, the link to diff was replaced by a link to cur. * The "mw-enhanced-watched" css style was removed, and there is no way at all any more to distinguish between watched and unwatched revisions. And there are more bugs reported, so I believe there were more changes. Could you tell me please, where can I find the full list of changes? And what can I do to restore the spoken style? Otherwise, I'll just tell everyone that the gadget is cancelled. Help! Thank you, Igal Khitron
Hi Igal, yeah, this is right way to write to this maillist. In general you have to go to https://wikitech.wikimedia.org/wiki/Deployments where you can find list of deployment windows. "Big" changes should be there. You should find window in which the change was deployed. As watchlist is core mediawiki thing I think it'll be in some MediaWiki train. There will be link (you should search for something like „group1 to 1.29.0-wmf.14“, the number at the end is a link. It will point you to some page at MediaWiki.org. An example can be found at https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/MediaWiki_1.29/wmf.14. There is complete list of changes that occured including a link to gerrit. Gerrit allows you to view even a diff if you wish it. Just click at the filename.
Did I help you?

If this is really caused by the last deploy (to wmf.14) the change must be at https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/rMWec6907e0b64f302a719ac9f08e2e0fa943ce8fc.... Have a look at this change (it is a branch creation).

Really sorry about this. This was accidentally caused by our work on the forthcoming Recent Changes Filters https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Edit_Review_Improvements/Filters_for_Special:Recent_Changes work, and wasn't meant to disrupt existing tools.
We spotted the issue in QA and fixed it earlier this week, but unfortunately it missed the "train" of deploys for this week by an hour or so (patch https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/#/c/340349/).
The team are now doing an emergency deploy of the code to the train https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/#/c/340781/, which should be fixed in a few minutes' time.
I've filed T159466 https://phabricator.wikimedia.org/T159466 for this issue in case there are any other issues; following-up there would probably be fastest.
Sorry again!

Really sorry about this. This was accidentally caused by our work on the forthcoming Recent Changes Filters https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Edit_Review_Improvements/Fil ters_for_Special:Recent_Changes work, and wasn't meant to disrupt existing tools.
