I would like to get CVS access to be able to upload new versions of languageNl.php myself rather than have to go through a busy Brion VIBBER every time.
As things are now, I intend to use this access only for updating the Dutch (and perhaps in the future the Frisian) language-version.

I'd do it in a second, but I don't know your sourceforge user name. :)

Neither did I, I don't think I had one. Created one under the name "a_engels".

Great, you're added.
If you've pulled a CVS tree anonymously, you'll want to grab a fresh one. Go to http://sourceforge.net/cvs/?group_id=34373 and scroll down to the section "Developer CVS Access via SSH" for vague directions on UNIX-like systems.

The problem is getting from CVS to the test server & then to the live server -- that is the bottleneck. Jimbo said a while back that more people would be given access at this level -- any news?

Erik Moeller (Eloquence) and Tim Starling should both have the necessary access to do this, if I'm not mistaken, as well as the usual suspects (Magnus Manske, Lee Crocker, and me).
Anyway, I keep meaning to finish up the live-editable translations-in-the-database system which will virtually eliminate the muss and fuss of this 'edit and fix source files with a bunch of damn string arrays' process, but I'm trying to get the memcached stuff in first (for one thing, I really don't like the idea of bugging mysql with a bajillion requests for individual strings!)

I asked for this access too so I could work on skins & CSS without bugging the hardcore SQL programmers :) Jimbo agreed to it IIRC, but I haven't heard any more about it
(BTW -- could you update the test server's css from CVS please?)

What is needed, here? Perhaps Brion and some of the other developers could throw out some names, I'll give the thumbs-up, and then whatever needs to be done can be done.
No need in having this as a bottleneck, although I should throw in the caveat that a certain amount of conservatism about throwing things on the live site is not necessarily a 'bottleneck', but merely a prudent means of avoiding outright disaster.

We did that bit about a month ago: you gave me & and a few others the thumbs up IIRC. (yay!) I promise to be cautious in any uploading -- in fact I plan on mainly working with CSS and skins.
What next?
