svn.wikimedia.org will take a short down time tomorrow 9/19 around 3pm PST (22:00 UTC).
We're going to upgrade our soon to be EOL release of Ubuntu and pick up some new packages as a result.
The upgrade itself will have us go from 7.04->7.10->8.04 and thus I'm setting aside a whole hour in case the worse happens.
Please take care to know that commits should be avoided during this time.
I'll mail out again when the upgrade starts and ends along with mentioning it in wikimedia irc channels.

*shudder* Have the 8.04 disk handy for an OS wipe and reinstall.
(dist-upgrade is one of the cases in which Ubuntu is really not quite Debian.)

I certainly hope that i wont have to resort to that :)
Starting svn backup now ... Upgrades to follow.
Please refrain from committing.
I'll send out a final mail when everything is stable and set.

System upgrade has gone smoothly. SVN depot is having issues with access through apache. Will update when that portion is back up.

The SVN depot has now been upgraded both with version 1.5 for the binaries and the depot itself is now in the 1.5 format.
Feel free to use and report back if anything weird pops up.
Our only glitch was with "libapache2-svn" not issuing/prompting for a restart of apache when the package was installed. This caused a version mismatch that was not fixed until I restarted apache.
all is well now. enjoy
