Hi all,
Someone just found out about an issue using the "Cite this article" function. for example, when we see the "Wikipedia" article as of 00:33, 16 June 2006, [http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wikipedia&oldid=58859884]. The URL link to the "Cite this article" is linking to the current version of the article. It should supposed to cite that article as of that modification time, instead of the current revision , IMHO. Is this really an issue about the Cite.php extension?
thanks and regards Man

The user is pointing out that the Special:Cite link in the sidebar will always create a permalink to the latest revision, even when viewing an old revision.

Ok, apparently I need more sleep. :)
When viewing an old revision, it ought to link to that revision. Right?

Peanut gallery: That seems right to me.
Incidentally, it's pleasing to see the big disclaimer when you click the "Cite this page" link.

Concur on both points, for whatever *that's* worth. :-)

Probably. The Special:Cite page should then say "Date of cited revision" instead of "Date of last revision".

No, but if it's an issue at all, then it's one with SpecialCite.php or with the core code, if we merged that functionality in.

...and I can't see why the hell this is an issue, as I can't reproduce the problem.

There's an example to reproduce a problem.
*Select a earlier revision of an article, for example: an "Wikipedia" article as of 00:01, 6 July 2006 [http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php? title=Wikipedia&oldid=62278950] *See the "Cite this article" link, it's link to the current revision of the citation of the article, which is incorrect. [http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php? title=Special:Cite&page=Wikipedia&id=62663748], this revision is modified as of 02:23, 8 July 2006. IMO, it should be linked to the corrresponding revision number, which is revision 62278950, for example.
