Hi!The Wikimedia chapters either have a website as a wikimedia.orgsubdomain, or under a separate domain, making it unpredictable where to find the website of any given chapter. I suggest to create a subdomain of wikimedia.org for every chapter, and they should redirect to the actual homepages of the chapters. This would make it much easier to find any given chapter, and would create a system similar to all the other websites of WMF (<language/country code>.<projectname>.org)
The redirects could be along these lines: ar.wikimedia.org --> wikimedia.org.ar (Argentine)http://www.wikimedia.org.ar/ at.wikimedia.org --> http://www.wikimedia.at/ (Austria)http://www.wikimedia.at/ au.wikimedia.org --> www.wikimedia.org.au (Australia) --> http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikimedia_Australia ch.wikimedia.org --> http://www.wikimedia.ch http://wikimedia.ch/ (CH, Switzerland) cz.wikimedia.org (Czech Republic, already a redirect to http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikimedia_Czech_Republic) de.wikimedia.org ---> wikimedia.de (Germany)
and so on... (if this list helps in creating the redirects, I will finish it, but I think you can get the point).
Thanks, Bence Damokos

This redirect is actually already setup, just FYI ;-)

Sorry about that :) . The point is that all the others should be set up if possible. Regards, Bence Damokos

Belgium -- chapters are location-based, so country codes are used here, not language codes.
And let's not forget the Pennsylvania group! For subnational chapters or potential chapters we have double subdomains:
- -- brion
Hoi, Would you believe there is a standard for this too ? It is the ISO-366-2:US. The correct code is US-PA Thanks, GerardM

Hoi, They are not ccTLDs but second level domains. Apart from that you are right in how it is implemented for the US. Thanks, GerardM

Sorry for interrupting yet another interesting discussion on different standards, but are any other chapters' (apart from the already existing pa.us.wikimedia.org) subdomain, to be used as a redirect, controversial from this aspect?Could this be implemented, and would the developers be so kind to do so, if there are no actual objections to having these redirects?
Thanks, Bence Damokos
